Mr. Brooks Trailer - Kevin Costner - William Hurt

I just saw the trailer for the upcoming Mr. Brooks, which stars Kevin Costner, William Hurt, and Demi Moore. Looks awesome. I've always liked movies where Costner play someone villainous (like A Perfect World or 3000 Miles to Graceland), and in Mr. Brooks, Costner gets really villainous. He plays an upstanding citizen who has a fetish for killing people. But he's trying to quit.

William Hurt plays Costner's alter-ego. Hurt's like a fine wine; he just gets better as he ages. (Did anyone else love his performance in The History of Violence?)

Anyway, you can watch the trailer here:

Lost - Season 3

Just finished watching the return of Lost on my DVR. (I was out singing karaoke last night, so I couldn't see it when it aired, but that's better anyway, because I like to skip the commercials.) One of the best episodes this season, as far as I'm concerned, but that might be because the flashback focused on Juliet (played by the beautiful Elizabeth Mitchell.)

No spoilers. Suffice it to say that this episode actually gave some answers to some questions, while still maintaining plenty of mystery and new questions.

One of the guest stars was Robin Weigart, who played Calamity Jane on Deadwood, another of my favorite shows. This makes three Deadwood actresses who have appeared on Lost now. Coincidence? I don't think so.

Anna Nicole Smith - RIP

I'm not sure why, but the news of Anna Nicole Smith's death at such a young age had more of an emotional effect on me than I would have thought. Maybe it's because we're approximately the same age. As your contemporaries start passing away, I think your own mortality becomes a lot more real, even when it's a peer you didn't really know personally.

I was a big fan of hers though. I thought her reality show was funny, and I was always impressed with how she could pull off being a supermodel type without being a size 0. (I've never been a fan of super skinny women anyway.) Her appearances on the Howard Stern Show always made me laugh too.

At any rate, she died too young, and I am sad that she did.
